Skill Struck

Primary Research, Secondary Research, Focus Groups, Keynote

I worked with a start up firm, Skill Struck, and did a marketing audit to see where they could improve. As a group we used entrepreneurial tactics to help Skill Struck in their pursuit to expand. This included doing a WOW focus group, a unique prescribed focus group layout that focused on the “WOW” value of a product, and creating a detailed report of strategies that they should implement going forward.

After doing the WOW focus group, the participants gave the Skill Struck product a score of 7.08 out of 10. With the WOW focus group framework, any product that is scored greater than 7.5 has great potential to be a successful product. Any score between 5 to 7.5 needs the competitive angle to be sharpened more. Since we were close to a 7.5 we felt confident with the insights from the focus group we could help improve this product to a 7.5 and sharpen the competitive angle of Skill Struck.

7.08

WOW focus group average score.

We developed tactics such as holding networking events or user conferences with career and technical education directors and superintendents where we invite people who have loved their Skill Struck experience. By doing this, we will sell to the swing group through the eyes of the love group. SkillStruck also had an opportunity with attending numerous educational trade shows to showcase their product that weren’t already taking advantage of. With these tactics and the in addition of many others we feel confident that Skill Struck can increase the WOW score to 7.5 and in the process develop a stronger brand.
