BYU Eastern European Internships

The Brigham Young University German and Russian department in 2018 asked me to create a marketing campaign to help promote their Eastern European Internship programs. The department was focused on finding more funding from university deans and donors to help expand their programs into more Eastern Europe cities. Another goal of the department was to increase intern participants in the year 2019. With the help of my wife, Carly, we created a promotional campaign and video to display the internship opportunities that were available to students in Eastern Europe. We traveled to Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Germany to document interns’ experiences. The video below is a representation of my summer internship across Eastern Europe.

After the completion of the video, I presented the campaign to the BYU President’s Leadership Council, and the department received the funding it needed in order to expand the program into four new locations, including Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria, increasing the department programs to a total of nine.

Additionally, as a result of the marketing campaign and the departments successful recruiting meetings, intern participants spiked by 80% in the year of 2019, thus accomplishing one of the departments goals, as visualized below.
